NOSS, the largest open school board in India, caters to a diverse group of learners. With over 6 lakh students enrolled annually and 4.13 million cumulative enrollments in the last 5 years, regulatory compliance mandates storing student data for 5 years. Daily backups of 89 GB result in ~162 TB over 5 years, creating high storage costs on AWS S3.

To reduce cost, S3 Glacier was suggested, but compliance required data movement to archival after 10 days and auto-deletion after 60 months. Identifying which data to archive manually was challenging, so we recommended using Veeam.

InSphere implemented a storage strategy using Amazon S3 and Glacier for efficient backup management. Veeam was integrated to monitor and move data from S3 Standard to Glacier and archive it efficiently, ensuring cost optimization and regulatory compliance.
